we proceed. For Remedial Upgrading and ESL
Instruction, as well as Non-Dominant Hand
Training, specialists have conducted formal
program evaluations.

Remedial Upgrading & ESL Instruction: Evaluated by Cathexis Consulting Inc.
• Based on objective assessment data, almost all graduates (92%) met their educational goals and gained desired skills within the designated timeframes.
• Almost all (93%) of program graduates for whom follow-up data was available managed the transition to the next step in their ongoing vocational rehabilitation or managed job tasks using gained skills.
• The individually-customized curricula, the format of the instruction, and the competency of teachers were considered to be the most important factors underlying positive program outcomes.
• The clients were very satisfied with the services they received and their expectations were met to a high extent.
• All interviewed agency representatives indicated that the programming and communication either met or exceeded their professional expectations.
Non-Dominant Hand Training (NDHT): Evaluated by Franchi and Associates
• Performance improves significantly after training in all areas assessed, demonstrating effectiveness of NDHT program in improving perceptual-motor, handwriting, and
keyboarding skills.
• All or vast majority of graduates meet outcome objectives for gross-motor, fine-motor, handwriting, and typing skills. All or vast majority of literate graduates and majority of illiterate graduates meet outcome objectives for numeric keypadding skills.
• Graduate feedback shows extremely favorable results for NDHT program in terms of instructor competence and sensitivity, as well as overall satisfaction and degree of program customization.
• Case managers report that S.T.E.P. definitely meets expectations for outcomes achieved by the NDHT program.
• Case managers identify one-to-one instruction and nature of the curriculum as critical to enabling the achievement of outcomes for graduates.
• The NDHT program is seen as an attractive program especially when combined with other training programs like ESL.
